Three Small Things: Savoring the Moment
Friday, March 5, 2010 at 10:20AM Sometimes when working with time management it's easy to get caught up in to-do's and future plans. Planning and anticipating is important to create the life you want, but it's important to balance this kind of thinking with a sense of full presence in the moment.
For today's Three Small Things, I needed to remind myself to stop and smell the roses - so I'm going to focus on gratitude and the here-and-now:
- What is one small thing that you are grateful for about this very moment you are experiencing in this very place?
- What is one small thing that you experience every day that adds joy to your life?
- What is one small thing in your plans for the day that you will take the time to savor and do slowly without rushing?
So don't forget to take three deep breaths and enjoy the moment this weekend... as well as do all the wonderful work and planning we all do for the future. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Today, right this moment as I type, I am savoring the early spring sunshine and the smell of the sliced pears on my nearby plate. Every day I try to be extra aware of how grateful I am for my husband's every smile. Today I plan to fully enjoy the rippling movements of the baby in my belly as I practice relaxation exercises and stretches to get ready for bringing him out into the world in about three months.
Ah my favorite subject awareness!
Right at this moment I'm thankful for the keyboard I'm typing on. It embraces my fingers.
I appreciate the clear skies and the quiet of the night. I'm grateful for all the love in my life.
Congrats on the pregnancy Thekla. Hope all goes well.
Beautiful Manal... thanks for sharing! It's so moving to read or hear about what other people are grateful for.
